92 corsica
My son picked up a 1992 corsica 3.1 a couple of weeks ago for $300.00. (A friend of ours went with him to get the car) He was told that it needed rear brakes, ok no problem..haha..I replaced the front and rear brakes (everything) and there is a busted line...fixed the line and started to bleed the brakes and popped another line...said screw it and replaced all the brake line..Cool we have brakes..did a complete tune-up, checked and rechecked and rechecked to make sure that all the spark plug wires were going to where they are suppose to...replaced the belt (found that the motor mount is shot)...finally got the car running and it is missing pretty bad..(have to also replace the cat).rechecked the wires, then pulled the coil packs so that I could check them with my multimeter...this is what I got...
primary 0.6 secondary 5.5
primary 0.6 secondary 5.2
primary 0.6 secondary 5.2
Because I have a friend that works at a salvage yard I got coil packs just in case...I tested them too ...
primary 0.6 secondary 5.5
primary 0.6 secondary 5.4
primary 0.6 secondary 5.5
can someone tell me if these coils are good, on their way out, or shot...and where would you check next???
Really want to get this car going...my son has paid for everything and Im proud of him, but he is getting really discouraged.
Thanks
Kristine

Thanks for the information...
jwfirebird I went to the link you gave me and that helped..thanks..one question for you..it states
"If you have a hard start problem when the engine is cold, remove the coils and place them in your freezer for a god hour. then test them again. The numbers should be the same. If not, you have a bad coil.
Would that not also be true when the coil is hot?
