Default Need Tires For My 1993 ROADMASTER

Went to local tire store today to inquire about new tires for my new to me 1993 Road Master . I was told because of the odd size Michelin didn't make a replacement tire . All these names they gave me will have to be ordered .
This car is in like new condition with only 27,000 miles on it , so I want a good set of nice riding tires and price is not a consideration .

General altimax
BF Goodrich radial t/a
Cooper cobra GT
Kuhmo solus
Hankook Optmo
Vogue custom built radial

The guy said if it were him he would go with the black wall General $108.00 per .

The Vogue has a white wall and gold stripe similar to OEM . $162.00 per .

Any advise welcome especially from Road Master owners . TheReaper!

On another note . (from Edmonds reviewer)

Review

My 1993 Buick Roadmaster has over 470,000 original miles on the engine and transmission. I bought it in 1994, with 17,000 miles on it. I traded in a 1982 Buick Riviera with over 300,000 miles on it (I replaced the transmission on that one). My car still gets a little over 22 mpg on the highway. I admit, she doesn't look the best these days. The age is showing, but she is still super reliable. People are always making fun of me for driving that old car, but I can't bear the thought of parting with this car until it is no longer reliable. Does anyone know of another Buick Roadmaster with over 470,000 miles on it? I didn't want to buy the car, at first, but I'm glad I did.

Just curious what odd size are they referring to?
Is there a door sticker that states the tire specs, and what size is currently on the car?

Ok I checked both Michelin and Continental and they both have zero in 15 inch size.
I would want to see some of those tire brands and feel for thickness in the sidewalls.
Now a days, many tires are super thin in the sidewalls, and that is a heavy sedan.

This is the list of my choices .

The Vogue seams to be pretty popular with the big car people , at least from the few revues I've been able to find . The white wall with the gold stripe looks kind of grandpa to me , but my son thinks it looks classic and likes the look .

The first thing that comes to mind is bumping up to a 235/75R15 if you can afford the room. It will be a little taller, but I believe that was a very common truck tire size at one point.

Correct me if I'm wrong but that would be less than a half inch taller tire ?

I just threw it in a comparison, and it looks like you are correct. Just shy of a half an inch on the sidewall (just under 1" from ground to tire top). Circumference increase of 3.3%, so, assuming the speedometer is dead on, we are looking at about a 1mph discrepancy (higher actual speed than indicated) for every 30mph. GM isn't exactly known for their gauge accuracy however, so GPS speed comparisons are never a bad idea to start with.

Might be a good time to think about bumping up to 16" wheels and tires. Opens up a lot of tire choices. Went to 16" on my '95 88. Rides mucho better. Falken tire and wheel package from Discount was a good value and you get "free' financing depending on how much you spend. Word of caution, IF you go to different wheels, keep OEM lug nuts with your jack.
