01 regal only 1 D & N lights up
I have a 01 ls regal
having a problem that sounds weird
the gear selector lights up great
but only N D & 1 lights up
no P R 2 3 have tried 3 clusters
and 2 gear selector switch'*
same thing
well the old one only 1 would light up
so new switch got N & D
I am wondering if bad body control
module now?
I think it controls the dash but just guessing
any idea would help
and last note when you are moving
the floor shifter from P to R just before you get it
in Rev N will light up for a sec

and ask someone that knows what they are doing same question?
seams could not send private message I need 15 post first to do that
so what was my choice????

it would be ok but, you only ask once or it gets confusing. because some may post here and not see the other, and vice versa. but the original post is several years old and the original poster is not on here anymore.

most gms just have serial connection to pcm so everything goes to pcm, not much to trouble shoot and bcm doesnt have anything to do with it.

I guess it did not sink in at first
so if you had to guess would you say a bad power train control ?
and if I may ask other question I see the pin locations
4 wires going to pcm I guess?
and a ground but the switch has 7 wires on it so it has 3 grounds?
and if 4 wires how would it light up more then 4 gears?
when there is 7 gear levels? P R N D 3 2 1
do 3 wires run to other pins I am not seeing ?
I see pin
18 68 56 and 16

those four are all you are concerned with, make sure those connections are good and the wires are not broke, shorted, or loose. the ground make nothing work and the other wires are for start enable in neutral or park
