DRL system issue
Hey everybody, I'm new here and have an issue with my 2005 Bonneville.
I have noticed an issue that I think is related to the day time running lights system.
Since I bought the car I don't turn on the lights at night. I just let the DRL sensor switch everything over when it gets dark.
Not to long ago we were returning a movie rental and I put the car in park and left the car running. My wonderful bride to be jumped out of the passenger side to run the movie to the drop slot and closed the door as she got out.
After she closed the door I the dash lights, headlights started flashing on and off very rapidly.
Once she got back in the car it stopped.
When I was ready to put the car back in drive I noticed that my brake lights were not reflecting off of anything.
Check the next morning and the fuse for the brake lights was blown.
This happened a couple more times and the brake light fuse blows each time.
Now at night I turn on the head light switch and this flashing doesn't happen any more.
When I check the wiring under the back seat, the previous owner installed an after market remote start and the shop that did it kind of did a crappy job and buggered up the positive terminal.
Could this be caused by a bad connection at the battery, or is it most likely the twilight sensor in the DRL system?
