Stock
I have the original stock sound system, but lately I've been experiencing a problem with the cd player. I don't have a changer, just a single deck, but no matter what CD I put in, it skips.
I mean, it plays fine at first, but as the car warms up, the CD starts skiiping. This also happens in the summer when the car is already quit warm. Is this common in a 96? Has anyone else experienced this?

Hey Mass...how'* it going.
Many have replaced the stock deck due to issues. At this point, it'* 10 years old and the average cost to fix the mechanisms and player is around $120+
Many replace with aftermarket systems and love them.

Have you tried running one of those cleaning disks through it? Heat should have no effect on the laser and pickup, but it'* a cheap maintenance item before you move on to repairing/replacing it.
