Audio (and aftermarket electronics) This is your place for alarms, remote starters, to brag about your system, exaggerate your db levels, or simply ask questions for stock or aftermarket audio. No Flames! (except from roasted amps)

exactly how much modification would be going into shaving down the opening? Or do you think that I could possibly just heat the plastic with a heatgun and just mold it a little? I have 2 units in mind, the New Clarion that will come out soon, or a pioneer... hopefully no mods will be needed.

As far as sealed kick pods go, Ive done that before with pleasing results, and Im sure I could do it. Plus I woulndt necessarily need to mod the factory panels, but Id rather build everything INTO the car, if you know what Im saying. Ive had trouble with kids that want everything for free.... So I was just hoping somebody had pics of any custom work like building the drivers into the panels... Ill have to price panels from the junkyard first... then i suppose well see if Ill be glassing...

If the beze is anything like a 92-99 one, You'll wanna cut it to basic shape, then perhaps bondo it to where you want it, sand it, and texturize/seal the panel.

As far as i know, noone has ever had to do it, but its dependant on the headunit, some double din headunits have buttons or moving faceplates that come very close to the edges of the mounting area, some headunits may work perfectly, some may require as much as probably 1/2inch of trimming of the bezel. Making it look good would be my most hessitant factor, and why i still dont have the touchscreen NAV in my own car.
