The questions that come to mind was what quality pad and rotor?
Do you find that you are a slow braking driver where the brakes are engaged for a long period of time?
Was any goop applied to the back of the pad that is designed to hold it to the caliper?

I have an 01 and mine are pretty bad too but I haven't replaced them yet. I'll wait till they are worn so until then I find that changing your braking pressure usually gets it to stop. It'* almost like second nature to me know to hit the brakes and then either let up some and go back into it or just hit em harder right off that bat. Nothing drastic though, just a little extra or little less pressure.
