Default Supercharger belt

I'll check tonight for the belt number.

I am in the process of trying to change my supercharger pulley this weekend with the local GrandPrix club. Could you provide me with some assistance on what you had to do to gain access to the pulley because of the A/C lines are very close to the end of the pulley. The coolent tank should be easy to move out fo the way.

Thanks,

Doug

The only thing I did was loosen the plastic clip at the top of the bracket of the AC line , nearest the fuse panel , and push the line to the front of the engine . There should be enough play in the line to squeeze the puller past in order to line it up with the pulley . Be careful when you start to crank the puller to pull it off . Mine got slightly cocked and actually bent the original pulley and shaft of the puller . I was able to reposition the puller 90 degrees and eventually pulled it off . I hope this helps . Good luck !!!

Default supercharger belt

Thank you for the information on the changing the pulley I am discouraged that 20 some people looked at my message and no one responded to it. When I was on the GP list, there might have been some bitching and moaning of a new member asking a question thats been asked before, but with that, advise would be given.

Onto the belt...........I will hopefully find out tomorrow, but the belt I was advised to buy a 6PK1815 Size. I could not find this size belt in a Goodyear gatorback, so I opted for a Dayco Poly Cog with part # 5060715. Hopefully this will work and I'll have a 3.4" pulley on tomorrow afternoon.

Thanks,

Doug

I suggest keeping the stock belt and using the ZZP oversized idler pulley. It'll give you a greater circumference wrap around the pulley. Keeping the stock length has it'* advantages.

Keep in mind we don't have as many Series 2 L67'* here. Most of our members have older generations. Those that view are interested, but don't feel they can help.

If you do change the length, please post what you find. Others here will eventually need the help!

The stock belt will work with the 3.4" pulley but it will be right at the end of the travel of the tensioner.
As you can read in my profile, I did go one size smaller on the belt because I was worried about slippage but it didn't really make any difference.
This belt should work with the 3.25" pulley I plan on swapping to.

Default belt size

The belt I was advised to buy was a 6PK1815 Size. I could not find this size belt in a Goodyear gatorback, so I opted for a Dayco Poly Cog with part # 5060715.

This belt fit, and seems to be doing great. As far as the install it went smoothly, just removed the Antifreeze Tank, and had to pull the A/C Line a little out of the way.

Love the extra boost. I didn't get a chance to really push her, but up to 90 mph she seemed to be just fine.

Received much better gas mileage on the interstate in hills of WV. The car never shifted out of overdrive once I set my cruise. Excellent. (From usual 21.5 mpg to 25.5 mpg running at 78 mph for 30 miles from refill)
