Lost SC belt on 2000SSEi, can I still drive it?
I arrived home today to find my SC belt just laying in the engine bay. The SC pulley is in tact, the idler pulley is in tact and the pulley close to the isdler is in tact. The pulley directly below the SC pulley but above the crank pulley is GONE! Just a screw and the pulley hub, but no pulley.
1) Can I drive the car this way and just get less power without the SC being driven?
2) Will I do any damage without this belt running the SC?
Any swift answers will be helpful as I now need to scramble for parts and hope I can still drive the car 50 miles daily till I get the replacement parts.
Thanks!

Thanks for the replies....here'* what I got:
1) SC Pulley, ribbed, in tact. Was hot to the touch when I found the problem
2) Tensioner Pulley, smooth, encrusted in burnt/re-solidified rubber on the pulley
3) Ilder Pulley, ribbed, in tact
4) Idler Pulley, MISSING! This puppy is gone. Just the screw and hub barely larger than the hub, was HOT when I found the problem
5) Crank Pulley, ribbed, in tact
Well, it appears that the only thing driven from this belt is the SC. Odd thing is I heard nothing go under the hood, no clank, no nothing. Guess a trip to the dealer is in order to see about getting it fixed sooner than later. I think I'd rather minimize driving without the belt, and I really want to know why this failed. (Extended warranty don't fail me now) In all my many years, I've never had a failure of a belt. Of all the times I can't afford down time.....geez.
Thanks again for the quick response...I feel confident I'm not gonna screw it up.

You can drive no problem. On a Series 2, the supercharger belt is not driving anything but the supercharger.
On our favorite Dayco picture..that'* #9 and all I can say is be thankful you have a 2000+. That will make it about 2 hours easier than a 96-99.

I had a feeling it was that pulley that was missing, but you "directly below" the SC pulley so I thought water pump. That would have been impossible.
You'll be NA for a while, no worries.
