Default Check Engine Soon light came on,.....a problem or not???

My wife'* '01 Bonneville SE[37K miles] was running fine until she added gas to the tank,.....the kid pumping gas at a full-service station didn't screw the gas cap on until it was fully tight(cap didn't make the clicking sound...so the wife said),........car ran Real rough after that and the Check Engine Soon light came on,.......I re-tightened the gas cap and drove the car around for 5-10 miles or so.........the car'* engine smoothed out and seems to run fine now at Every engine speed/condition/load(been about 5 days),.......the problem is tha the Light still comes on every time the car is started and stays on!,...is this a PCM code that has to be reset manually.....or will it reset itself......or should I be looking for some other reason the light is on???Thanks for any info and/or feedback.

Default

yup if the gascap is not sealed all the way....makes the clicks, It will set the SES code. THe code will not dissappear in its own disconnect the battery for 30 min to reset the PCM
