I got p0715 p0716 p0717 on a scope from auto zone,the guy there couldn't tell me how to fix it but I know u guys can. I haven't been on here for quite a while,but I'm back on now and I need help cause my ssei is running like crap. It is misfiring and sputtering if I get into the pedal like anywhere after about 4 lbs of boost the power just falls on its face but trys to catch up with itself. If u keep out of the pedal it runs fine still takes off good and goes right up to speed.

Sounds like you have a bad input speed sensor or a bad wire between that sensor and the PCM. The sensor is inside the transmission side pan. It'* easy to replace, just a real pain to get to it. You would need to lower the transmission far enough to remove the side pan, and that'* a fair amount to lower it. When this sensor goes out it will disable the shift adapts.

Thank u this diagram will help a lot when I do it. But now my question is,is there anything else I should replace while I'm in there cause of the pain it is to get to, and can this sensor make the engine misfire is this conected in any way to air fuel ratio or performance. Because if u floor it my car spits and sputters and just don't wanna go anywhere like I said before if u ease into the gas it dosnt sputter till after 5lbs of boost.the sensor definatly is bad because it dosnt shift right at all. I hope it fixes it but I almost think I have another problem in itself I'm gonna replace it this weekend I think I will be sure to post my results. I'm getting a good tax return so the ssei will be getting goodies

Change the EPC, pressure control when your in there. I think you have another problem for teh misfire, like bad coils.

My middle coil has had huge corrossion where the plug wires meet. The outside coils did not have this corrossion. Takes just a few seconds to check if corrossion might be the issue. Simple fix, and seems unlikely why the middle coil contacts rusted so bad and the outside coils like shiny.

Worth a check before dropping the trans.

I was positive it was the coils so what better excuse to buy msd coils to match my wires I did this and the problem is still there I got it scoped again and those codes are what I got.I didn't think that would hafta do with a misfire but I've done extensive looking for a loose or rubbed wire with no luck.its always had a bit of a shift problem but not bad it seems that the car is confused on when to downshift out of 4th but just a little more pedal and it goes but the misfire is killing my gas milage .here'* somthing that might help,say I'm driving up a slight incline at low rpm it will just loose all power for a split second and continue to do so untill I press the gas down more and downshift .again this may be another problem altogether from my loss of power at higher rpm

A bad throttle position sensor can cause this. Test it before you replace it.

MAF and TPS both can cause odd shifting etc as the PCM relies heavily on them for trans control.

MSD coils are not good in our cars. They will seem good for about a year and after that most guys start chasing down misfires and come to the final hair pulling trial of changing back to stockers, which solves the issue. I wouldn't recommend them. A new coil at the parts store is about $25

On replacing the soleniods, before you replace them, test them. In the lower right of Dan'* picture there are resistance values of what the soleniods should read if good. Test before you replace. It'* much easier to test, trust me.

The only exception to that testing is the EPC, just replace. It'* a known weak point, and even if they test good, they can still not work right.
