The main cause has been mistakenly using the wrong keyless entry remote where they program for driver 1 and use the remote for driver 2 to unlock the car.
The grounding strap causes various electrical problems to appear. It is attached to a painted surface so the ground is picked up by the bolt as it is threaded into the floor pan. That opens to the underside of the car, so rust and corrosion builds up after a time.
Loose connections to the rear and under-hood fuse box, including the 3 bolts that ground and hold the box down has also created issues.
