Faulty Outside Temperature Sensor?
The other day I noticed my car read about 51 degrees warmer outside then it really was. But it varies every day how much warmer it reads then the actual temperature. Sometimes it'* only 20-25 degrees warmer and other days it'* closer to 60 degrees warmer. From what I understand, the warmer the sensor gets, the less resistance it puts out. So either there is a short somewhere or the sensor is bad. Has anyone else had this issue before or any ideas?

i noticed on sunny days, my outisde temperature reads as being quite a bit warmer than the outside air. i attributed it to the ultraviolet light converting to heat when it hit something [i dont know where the sensor is, but that seemed plausible].

It'* been discussed a few times. Doing a search will get you things like this....

I thought it was maybe the sun at first but It reads like 88 degrees at night when it'* like 20 degrees outside.
Thanks for the link to that post. I'm pretty sure the sensor is bad after reading that. But does anyone know what the part number is for the sensor or know where I can buy a new one online? I tried looking up the part on a couple different websites including GM'* part website but no luck.

Yes, it affects the automatic climate control by telling it to add heat or not based on the outside temperature. I believe the link I gave at least partially explained that.
