What does dexcool smell like when burnt?
I am familiar with the smell of regular coolant coming out the tailpipe, but never have had the 'pleasure' of dealing with Dexcool. Does it have the same sweet smell?
I am loosing some coolant and suspect the UIM. Nothing showing in the oil yet but the exhaust smells 'funny'. Almost like hot circuit board.

Update:
After sitting for a while, it wouldn't even turnover.
The damn thing was hydro locked! Fluid actually poured out when I pulled spark plug #4. #6 was also pretty full of water. There was a slight residue on #1 and #2.
Does this still sound like a UIM issue or am I doing a headgasket job soon?

Car will not be moving until repaired.
Are the best places to purchase upgraded UIM'* still listed in the tech article?
I need to get this back on the road ASAP. I do not like to drive the Talon in winter.
Thanks

You seriously need to drain that oil ASAP. That coolant is eating away at the bearings.
You don't have a headgasket failure. It'* your UIM, UIM gasket and LIM gaskets. Search around. There'* TONS of information on that failure here.

I would like to get an APN but I don't want to wait for shipping so I will probably pick up a Dorman from the local Autozone or Checker.
Anyone have any input on the FelPro LIM gaskets at the Zone? $37 vs $68 for the GM parts. Price not being the major issue, my ability to GET to a dealer during the daytime being a problem.
EDIT: Bah nevermind, I will just have to take a long lunch and run down to the dealer.
Thanks again for running this great forum guys.

from the sounds of it, your upper intake failed and filled the cylinders with coolant, as long as your rings are worth their weight you should not get any coolant in your oil.

I used the felpro gaskets that I found on rock auto. It was the '2nd design'. They seem to work fine so far, but I've only thrown like 1,500 mi on them.
I used the APN upper kit. Also ported the LIM while I was at it.
