What is a sure fire way to reattach the rear view mirror to the windshiled? Came out from work an hour ago to discover the adhesive had melted and my mirror was hanging by the wires.

It was so ******* hot today...

My last car lost its mirror one hot afternoon, never got it to stick in place more than a few days after that.

I'm looking for actual axperience with a certain brand or method of reattachment...

The same thing happened to me last year. Call around to your local auto glass stores. Many will do it for free. They know how to remove the metal backing plate from the rear view mirror. It only took about five minutes or so. Can't hurt to ask.
