Another thing I find helpful is when the cam is out. Plug the hole with a rag, cover the lifter valley/pistons (if open) and clean the gasket surface w/o the gears in the way. That'* so you can ensure you don't nick any gears. Shouldn't hurt them if you do, but at this point..why chance it?

In the pm, we were chatting about L26 oil filter adapter/pan etc. L26 is meant for a W body which means the adapater sticks toward the passenger side of the car instead of tucking under. Us H body guys would hit the subframe with that adapter. We need the right adapter/pick up tubes.

I like it when they are that clean. My 3rd motor was like that one.

An IR Titanium gun, dayyyyyum. I have the 3/8 version of that gun and well. Mechanic buddy didn't want to give that back either. Matter of fact..we snapped a couple stubborn motor mount bolts with that 3/8" gun.

I'm impressed. I hooked it up yesterday and put a few drops of oil in, then gave it a spin. Wow, did that thing take off. My old one was retired right there. I'll give it to my son.
