Default A Pillar Gauge pods?

I want to install Two gauges in my car, and was under the impression that a Grand Prix A pillar gauge pod would work in my Bonneville. I read the tech info file on how to do this, but still haven't been able to find anything that says the part will work on a Bonneville. Has anyone else purchased a gauge pod? If so, where from, and how well does it fit and look?

Ty at www.Domesticperformance.com is working on them for the Bonneville. The ones for the GP will not fit the Bonneville. The best you can do until one is made fot us is to fab one yourself or mount gauges external to the A-pillar. Hopefully there wil be some available to us soon.

Are they claiming at that site that there gauge pod will fit the Bonneville? Its really didn't say, and mine falls into the year(*) that it says it will work for? Do you think these will work?

Last that I heard, they were still in development. The ones he is makeing will be exact replacements for the Bonnevilles a-pillar. There is the option of getting one custom made but that can be a little pricey. What you can do is to either PM or E-mail Speedyguy (Ty) and he can give you the scoop on the a-pillars. I've talked with him before and he is really good to work with.

Dood, I found the page for the pillar guages for you:
http://domesticperformance.com/shop/...products_id=49
Looks like they need 30 orders first before they'll make them. You might drop him an email and find out how many have ordered."

Ok the deal is this yes many moons ago Lotek "was'" going to make us units Domestic performance set up a deal did all the research for the proper parts then we confirmed the way the system worked...Well Lotek said they would do it and I said there were quite a few people interested. Well then Lotek was called by me many times finally they found the cores I sent. Then once they got there deal worked out they informed me (I still have all the e-mails to back this up) they were working on it. "Soon". Well I phoned again and the younger fellow mumbled and finally said well there is not really a big market and we will need more numbers before we can make any. "Its an old mans car".??? GRRRRRRRRR at that point he was lucky to make it past that point. . I was, still am mad. I wish they said that in the first place.

So I was put off to say the least and figured if we got enough people eventually we could have them made.

I get tired of waiting so I contacted the guy who does hoods for me and said can we get a deal set up made of fiberglass?? He said easy no problem and then the part can be textured or painted any way they want.

So this week I will be sending new cores (no call back from LOTEK so I could get my old cores) and the mold will be made. We will apply this to all Bonneville’* so there will be no Bonneville left un turned and you can pick the number of pods you want. We will make a system that will be somewhat custom. I can also have other dash parts made so any custom dash ideas for the Bonneville drop them my way and we might be able to make them happen for you.

That'* great. Will you post something when they are available? I would be the first to order. I have been trying to think of other locations. Nothing has come to me yet, but it might. Also, do you have any idea what they may cost, say for a 2-3 gauge model? Old mans car is not exactly accurate. I would have been ticked off too.

They Lotek can have there opinion but in the end I wish they just told me they were not interested unless I funded the entire deal up front. They initially said there would be no problem providing a mock up Before the final order was made. Well that’* life and I moved on. Since then I continue to encounter silly behavior but in the end its all good.

Yes I will post a pic and all the options as I get more info.

Hey Ty,

I was thinking maybe a panel to go on the left side of the dash inbetween the A-pillar and the part where the dash curves over the stock gauges. Ricers put big-assed monster tachs there all the time (hey, neato, you're engine spins to 8000 rpm, where'* your torque?) if that helps. It would have to leave a seam somewhere, unless you want to make a whole new dash but there could be 2, 3, maybe 4 small gauges sprouting out of the dash there, maybe attach it to the bottom of the A pillar pods. Don't know what we'd need 6 gauges for, but it'd be fun. Stereo guys could fill those up easy. Just a crazy idea, maybe I'll try to draw/photoshop it up to give everyone a better idea.
