Okay, The "Performance Shift" is actuallty done in the Transmission'* Channel Plate Assembly. In other words, the Channel Plate adjusts your shift points for better performance. Those little switches that are next to the shifter is what I'm talking about. If engine RPM does come into play here it would through the PCM that control the transmission anyways.

So.. if I hard wired it to stay on performance shift on my 97 SSEI.. then I can use those 2 switches for something else... light kill swith... ejection seats.. Bwahahaha... . So it seems that it doesn't do much.. other than easier downshift and higher rev upshift..

Jseabert and I will confirm this soon by swapping pods. He has no perf mode on his 93SSE, I do on the 93SSEi. This'll give us an indication of what it does on both cars, with or without the switch. Couple things we need to do to his car first. Like find his engine. Pressure washer should help
