Left Rear Door Lock not Cooperating
I bought a 93 SE with 114000 mi on it back in June. Since I have owned it, the left rear door will not lock with the rest of the doors automatically. It will lock manually just fine, but that is a pain in the butt. Anyone have idea as to what has happened, and how to remedy the problem?

How about power unlock? Does that work OK?

Ok. Then let'* see... it seems we have either an actuator or a wire problem. The wires can be tested in the door jamb boot. There should be a gray wire and a tan wire coming from the body into the door. You want to test these wires for the following characteristics:
Both wires should be at ground at rest.
The gray wire should be +12v upon pressing the Lock button
The tan wire should be +12v upon pressinf the Unlock button.
If all of this these characteristics are correct, the problem is in the door. It still could be either an actuator or wire problem. Once the door panel is removed, do the same test right at the actuator. If everything tests correctly... bad actuator. If not... bad wire or connection between door jamb boot and actuator.
If you get different results from the above characteristics, I suspect a wiring problem.
