air filter problem
i am having an extremely difficult time getting my air filter out of my 96' bonneville - apperantly the screws that keep it in place have rusted shut meanwhile the air filter compartment has can be lifted a few inches on one side while the other moves less than an inch - i am afraid to just pull it with fear of breaking it - any suggestions?

just a thought.. spray some rust check on it.. let it sit for 10 minutes.. spray some more on and put a hairdryer or heat gun at low temp ( move around so you don't burn the plastic ) and try the screws then.. try removing the accordian tubing and moving the airbox.. maybe the 1 screw at the bottom isn't holding it down.. thats why you can lift one side and not the other that much cause of the tubing.. if you can take it out.. and you're replacing the air filter anyways.. take the whole thing and let it soak in water and dish soap overnight to help loosen the screws.
