Default Trans going into Gear problem. *Update - Video *

Ok so about 4 or 5 days after i did my Trans filter and fluid change i started to have a problem.

It only happens when its cold (been sitting for 4+hours)

What happens is that i will start the car, let it idle for 1 or 2 min, then put it in OD(Drive)
But it doesn't go into it, it just stay in like a Neutral state.
I put it back in park then back in drive, Nothing.
Put it in Revere then drive then park then drive, Still nothing.
I put it into 1st then drive then 1st then drive an somtimes it will go into drive and work just fine from there on.

some other time i have to give it a little gas like 1,500 RPMs then it goes in.

Now i have check the fluid level again sense i changed every thing and its fine, right at the max when warm.

And the trans works 100% after it goes into drive, no problems shifting or anything.

So what im thinking is that there is a check ball somewhere thats stickying when cold and once its warm and goes in it works fine.
Or im thinking that my TC lost some fluid somehow when i dropped the pan to do the Filter and it didn't fill back up all the way.

so what you think? Dieing?
:?

Sometimes you have to bleed the air out of the system.... So check the fluid level again. If that'* okay.... while running.... after cycling through every gear....

Pull your pan and make sure you have the filter in all of the way. Also check and make sure you didn't knock any of the steel hoses out of the accumulator housing(right next to the filter). One of the hoses goes to the 1/2 manual roller clutch and should have a rubber segment in it. I would suspect that to be the one to come loose if any.

The fluid in the torque converter is shared with the trans.

Hopefully someone else will have a better idea other than pulling the pan. I know it'* a pain in the *** to pull them down with the 4736782 bolts required to hold it up....

Yup, i made sure it was all the way in, i gently tap it in with a soft rubber mallet.

and all the Hoses where still in place from what i could tell.

But the weird thing is that this didn't start until 4 or 5 days after i did the work, so thats why im thinking it Gunk or dirt that is making something stick. But i dont know. ill let every get there say in so i can pin point the problem.

Well, you have my vote on what it could be. It could have just worked it'* way loose. I'll consult my manual when I get home regarding checkballs.

I'd be leaning toward the filter coming loose also. When you replaced it, did you leave the original sleeve in the ttransmission, and remove it from the new one, or did you use the new sleeve?

I used the old sleeve because i could not find a way to take that old one out safely.
And the new one wasn't even on the new filter.
If i though i could have gotten the old one out with out screwing my self with getting it stuck then i would have. Cuz it was in there pretty good.

Far as how tight the new filter went in, it was F'ing tight. i could not just press it in, i had to use the Rubber Mallet to tap it in.

I used about 7.5ish quarts. i put 7 in after doing it slowly.

I put 6 in cuz i new i could at lest put 6, Then i slowly added more after letting it warm up
and going though the gears and checking and adding.

Then after putting all 7 in, it was just at the full line, now that was week ago, yesterday i checked it again and it was down about 1/2 a quart so i added and checked,
and today just now i checked it, its sitting nicely right at full
