No the thing was running tip top. After the PCM learn I was doing a WOT run and at 5k rpm I heard what sounded like a belt squeal. I did another and then came the tapping. Man, that really sounds to be in the valvetrain to me. Also, in the oil picture, you had just done an oil change, so that looks like fresh oil with metal flakes in it.
Come to think of it, the above description does sound like a bearing locking (sqealing), then spinning (the tapping) and the a gradual increase in the volume of the tapping to a knocking (bearing material coming out of the ring). However, that oil, to me, just looks like fresh oil with metal in it. Personally I don't see convincing evidence of coolant in that oil.
But we'll see what the shop finds out.
