fuel problem, after reinstalling engine...
hey guys, maybe some of you remember me..... i was a regular here about 6 or so months ago.
i was about to sell my 92 bonne but i decided to keep it and have the minor problems fixed and drop the motor back in.
so i had a shop put my motor back in and today they tried to start it up and it turns over really good but it will not actually start and idle. the mechanic said the fuel pump isnt turning on, and when they sprayed starter fluid in the engine it started but for like only a second then it dies again. we put fuel in it, about 2 gallons so thats not the problem.
is there a fuel cutoff switch or somthing minor they have to do in order for the motor to start up after pulling and putting the motor back in for any reason?
they could have possibly fixed it by now but im curious as to why the fuel isnt being delivered to the motor, because i drove the bonneville to the shop to have the motor taken out to begin with so i know the fuel pump cant be bad. please help :(

Check the fuse behind the glove compartment. Also there should be a test wire somewhere that you can apply a 12V source that will make the fuel pump turn on. I is usually close to the battery.

ok guys they figured it out....the huge bundle of wires that comes out of the interior and into the engine bay on the passenger side was pulled out when the engine was taken out to be rebuilt, somehow the box that is attached to it wasnt tightened all the way causing the fuel pump to not function? but anyhow they tightened the box how it should be and the pump turned on after they turned the ignition on. but there is bad news.....
after they got fuel to the engine it started right up with a bad KNOCK and shut the motor off, started it back up and it wouldnt even turn over, engine seized
what would cause this? the motor ran just fine when i drove it to the shop..... none of the internals were messed with or taken apart, but the motor did sit for about 4 months covered in a blanket in a garage with the oil pan off.
does anybody know what happened?
