*/C Belt Siezes Motor
I was driving around and noticed the car had no guts and didn't whine right before I got home. Poped the hood and looked, no */C belt. Looked all over for the damn thing. I shut the hood and all of a sudden the engine just stops. Pop the hood again and there it is tangled up around the pulleys. I start it up to see if the belt would come loose and after the PCM revves the engine up to just shy of 2K it came loose.
I was wondering if this "procedure" I used was bad on the engine. As if the locking up probably wasn't the best thing for it already. I didn't have any way to cut the belt loose so starting it up again was my only option.

sorry again, back on subject now, i doubt the seizing would do any damage to the engine, people stall out manual trans engine all the time, similar idea, just stalling from the other end of the crank

Without the SC, the engine will be breathing through a hole the size of a quarter. It will also be PULLING some through the SC by spinning the rotors through sucton alone, as seen by a vid from Haro. Lotsa strain on the intake stroke.
What pulley was the belt wrapped around? It maybe could have damaged it.

The lowest sitting, biggest pulley is the harmonic balancer.
Tyipcally the place belts will get caught. Usually it won't hurt anything. Only real way to tell is look for any leaks or issues.

The crank sensor and it'* wires are down there. Inspect them for damage.
Cranking the motor with a tangled belt COULD damage internal engine parts in much the same manner as hydrolocking.
