Dude: Don't pay them to do a tune up. Do it yourself. Even if you have to tow it home, they are going to charge you hundreds of dollars for $30 worth of plugs and wires. As far as cleaning the throttle body, make sure they are actually going to remove it and clean it. They are probably just going to run a bottle of gumout through it, which you could do at home for $2 or so.

As far the other engine work goes, let them do it... They have the tools and know how to put everything back together right.

Im over 100 miles from my house currently at school in philadelphia. I do not know of any mechanics around here, I really wish knew someone that I could trust and would not rip me off. anybody from the philadelphia area that knows a good mechanic?

Midas sucks! They charged me $350.00 for a dual exhaust on my 75 K-10 which didn't sound too bad but then they screwed me out of $400.00 for rear brakes. I was stuck, the K-10 is my tow truck and I was out of town. I'll never do business with Midas again!

DUDE! that exact thing happend to me!, my problem was my alternator died on me and the fan wasnt goign to cool off engine and then it over heated then i went to start it up and it didnt.. I am buying a new alternator and it should solve it, hopefully this helps you!
