Yes. There is no 'core' or path. From one to the other. That'* it.

Correct. If you have a rad out of the car and dry..you will see the fins for the trans cooler/line by looking into the rad hose hole.

can anyone take a pic, or find a cross section of the radiator? because the tranny guy is saying that the fluid runs across the fins, and my teacher (ex-gm tech) is saying that there is a tiny cooler inside the radiator

No, I believe that'* from a Camaro. This is essentially what you have, just like you said, closer together.

Matt...tha'* on any car. Smack the trans guys for having zero clue. Tell them to put on another cooler and bypass your radiator. It'll be cheaper. On the O2....check it with your scanner to see if it'* toggling. Questions..call me tonight...I can explain better on phone.

It stays in that end, and goes only between the two ports. That'* it. No fins, nothing. VERY tight passages. After an initial trans failure, it can get clogged and prevent circulation and flow of the trans fluid.

Your trans guy.......well, I'll reserve my comments in case you want to point him to this topic.

Bill..how do you explain the fins I see in the end cap of the rad where the trans lines come in? You keep saying they are only a single tube running through w/o any fins...but yet ...I see finnage.

I'd like to understand better.
