Default dead battery took 2 hours to get running

so i left my lights on when i went to work. went to start my car nothing. tryd a starter nothing, tryed jumping it with a smaller caddy, nothing. called aaa they sent out a little truck. nothing. finaly it took the smaller aaa truck and a big *** suburban to jump it.
anyone have this problem?
also is trying to start it for 2 hours gonna **** up my starter? or anything

get a new battery, and have your alt tested
