Default my car needs some love...

so the story is, I have a completely stock 95 SSE
the manifold issue was solved when it failed before I got the car so all that was taken care of. Was hoping for some suggestions on what to do on a few issues and some prevenetive maintence things, liek things that are known to be good to replace on stock to help keep the car running better. So here goes...
1. Compass reads calibrate right when I turn the car on, I have gone through the calibration procedure in the owners manual, but it wont return to working order. Have tried the driving in circles procedure about 5 times now.
2. Hesitation while accelerating/bad acceleration. This kicks in mostly when I get up to about 40 mph and up. When the accelerator is pressed is hesitates and shudders only way around it is to floor it, or completely take my foot off the accelerator.
3. Traction control issues.....Ive seen posts on wheel speed sensors...How much of a pain is it to deal with them.
4. Scantool? Anybody know of a place that will plug one in without charging a crazy shop fee?

The hesitation can probably be cured by cleaning your throttlebody.

When you calibrated the compass, were there any steel structures around? Mine wouldn't calibrate once because i was too close to our grain bins.

Your intake solution may have been too early to be 'final'. Is there a casting date on the new intake?

Regarding your compass issue. Do you have large subs or amps in the trunk, or are the rear deck speakers aftermarket? If so, refer to Techinfo for the solution.

Your hesitation is most likely ignition related. If you don't know how old your plugs and wires are, change them now.

To replace the wheel speed sensors, you must replace the entire hub/bearing assembly. $130 each for parts, and you can't tell which one is bad. Only the dealer can determine that. I suggest you carefully inspect the wiring to all 4, and clean the connectors. It could also be the EBCM or PMV assembly. Both very expensive (hundereds of dollars each).

Most autozones will scan for free. Tell them you need an OBD1 tool with the 16 (not 12) pin connector.

Aren't the 95 models OBD II and Autozone can't scan OBD I models anymore.

'95s are still OBD-I but with an OBD-II connector.

Sorry, I thought 94 was the only model year with the OBD I system and the OBD II connection. My bad.
