broken vacuum line
I found a completely severed vacuum line for the canister filter today.
I must of broke it when I removed the torque mount to put in the water pump.
The line is not repairable and is a hard plastic.
Is it safe to drive the car until I can get the line fixed?
Should I cap the line each way( to gas tank and to canister) until it is repaired to avoid vacuum leak?
Is this plastic line a dealer only item?

Personally I would cap both sides and drive on until convenient to replace. I don't know much about the system tho...A more knowledgable person will be by shortly....

WARNING: DO NOT CAP THE VACUUM LINE FROM THE GAS TANK TO THE CANISTER FILTER!(IF YOURS IS BROKEN OR CRACKED)
I capped my broken line and when I went to open the gas cap it was very hard to turn, then a ton of gas fume pressure escaped from the cap when I took the cap off. By capping the line I stopped the gas tank from venting and it began building pressure. Seemed like a bad thing to do.(gas fumes/vapors under pressure and all!!!)
I will be on a crappy shift at work for the next 3 weeks but will try to get this repaired somehow. I don't want a gas leak or fire.
