Default Rattle Under my drivers seat!

Hey guys.. ladies? lady?
The last 3 days there has been a rattle underneath the left side of my car, somewhere between the left front wheel, and the drivers seat. It'* hard to pinpoint exactly where it is because of the echo, so I think it'* under the panel of the bottom of the car? (does that sound right?) The rattle starts when I press the accelerator, and stops when I release it. It happens no matter what the RPM is. The rattle doesn't increase in loudness, or pitch when I rev the engine up, or during normal highway driving conditions.

The only situational things that have happened was today when I was driving 60mph, the car was just under 2000 rpms, the car jumped slightly up to about 2200-2300 stuttered a second, and went back to just under 2000 again.

Also my ABS light is on right now.

Any thoughts on where I can begin to look at? Any help is a great start for me,
Thanks as always!

Oh! Just wanted to let everyone know my car is sitting at 197000 miles, almost at 200k! Best damn car I've owned

Check that bad ABS situation..as mentioned the other day..that may be a bad wheel bearing.

Also check the catalytic converter.

Moose, what kind of car do you have? Is it a metallic sounding rattle, or non metallic?

Please put your year and trim level in your signature before an Admin puts an embarrassing line in your signature for you.

I am leaning toward looking into the abs thing. Does the petal virbrate at when you stop. My old cavalier(01) had what sounds to be simlar problem it turn out the rotor wraped. But I would start with looking the abs.

A bad wheel bearing and wheel speed sensor may be in order. I looked back and saw that you have a '93 SSE, but you should add that to your sig. I am local and may be able to assist in diagnosis. I sent you a private message (PM) .

Sorry for the delays in writing back, I have an odd client based work schedule down here.... To answer markwb'* question, the rattling...it'* a metallic sound, for sure. For Masterbm'* question, the petal doesn't vibrate when I stop. I do remember that one, as I had to get my rotors and drums replace about 5mo. after moving down to PHX.

Echo, I recieved your PM, i'm sorry, I was on the way out the door, and wanted to wait til I had a chance to write. If you haven't checked your mailbox yet, there should be something in there.

Thanks for the advice help guys.

Happens on accelleration. Check.
Sounds like metal rattling, like tin cans. Check.
Causes stumble or hesitation. Check.
Sound comes from underneath car. Check.

If I were betting cash money, I'd guess plugged catalytic converter. Just take it to an exhaust shop, they can check it out pretty quickly.

I think your ABS problem is unrelated. Get that checked out too.
