Default Oil Pressure question

Can anyone tell me what the "normal" oil pressure is on a '94 se?

My guage is marked in KPa and I thought that 275 was a good number until I did the math and converted it to PSI.

My oil pressure ranges from 300 when idling cold, to about 150 idling hot. Always about the 275 mark when driving.

150 KPa = aprox 22 psi
200 = 29
275 = 39
300 = 43

Thanks,
John

Normal will point directly to the sky. Straight up is X kPA'* and 40 psi.

Thanks,

Is it "normal" for it to drop to half that when idling with the motor at operating temps?

A good amount of Bonnies iv been in and I have all drop like 5-10 point or so when the Motor is Hot and at idle in Drive at a light or something.

But it should jump right back up once it hits like 1,100 RPM or 1000 RPM or so.

It is normal for an engine with your mileage. When new, with nice tight bearings all around, the pressure will stay up even at hot idle. But as bearing wear occurs, oil clearances increase and oil pressure will drop when the pump speed (crankshaft speed) is low and the oil is thin and hot.
