Default 98 Lesabre motor to 99 Bonneville... Oil Pan question

I've taken the motor out of a 98 Lesabre and am putting in a 99 Bonneville. The Oil Pan is different. I've already swapped the oil filter mount, but now the LeSabre pan is too deep and I cant get the filter on. Would I have to change the oil pump if I change the pan, or would it be easier to keep the LeSabre pan and oil filter mount on there?

I would hate to get it in there and there are clearance issues. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
You would be better off swapping over all the original Bonneville engine accessories. Oil pickup tube, oil pan, and oil filter adapter.

That way there will be no room for doubt.

As far as your question about the oil pump; what went wrong with the Bonneville motor? Did it loose oil pressure and spin a bearing?

If it did than forget about swapping the oil pump over!
