No it takes less then 10 minutes maybe 2 at tops an it sounds like theres a bunch of air in it as well. My husband isdropping the tank again in the morning to see if theres an air leak or a bad hose that attaches to the sending unit. He is also checking the filter in the tank. We have read if that got misplaced while putting pump back in that will cause some problems. He says it feels an sounds like its getting air in the fuel lines but he is sure its before the filter.

A fuel pressure test would confirm this theory or help you find that there is a leakdown or other issue.
However.. so far it seems that you don't want advice on the normal failures of the car with your symptoms. :?

I have done everything i have been suggested to do. No im not going to buy a 40 dollar tool I will only need for 5 minutes tops. Its a waste of money. I pinch pennies to make sure I have money for my bills as well as parts for this car. I read check the battery cables I did that bought new ones to find that wasnt even the problem. Check this check that done all that to find out that wasnt the problem. I have read the manual for this damn car about 50 million times. If you seem to think I dont want that "advice" or I dont use the "advice" all I have to say to that is whatever. I have said many times how I appreciated all the help I was getting but I guess those posts have gone unread.
Once again I thank all those who have helped. From here on out dont bother posting on this topic. Since I so called ignore all the help I have recieved. I will no longer "waste" your time nor mine.

I have had a ton of problems with my 1994 SE. I finally found the ultimate solution...I sent it to the crusher and bought a Dodge.
In 40 yrs of driving, my SE was the worst POS I have ever owned bar NONE!!!

Did you say that you had replaced the fuel filter? What did the inside of the tank look like, clean or was there a lot of 'gunk' in it. There have been situations where gunk in a fuel filter plugs it up after a certain amount of run time.. Once the pressure is off for a while the gunk kind of un-packs itself..car will re-start and then when it re-packs it cuts off fuel supply again.
The reason BillBoost said check the pressure is that fuel pressure is just like electricity it is something that you can't see or be sure of quantity/volume with out a tester. You may be able to find someone to borrow a fuel pressure checker from, or do you have any Harbor Freight stores in your area they have one for $20 or so I believe. If you run the car with the tester in place for 10 -15 minutes ...which seems like it'* your car'* "quit-time" You'll be able to see what happens to the fuel pressure when it'* deciding to quit.
If you have Spark and Compression...gas is the 3rd element...take another look at the fuel pressure.
