OK, Now Ted Needs Help- Lower Ball Joint
Have any of you replaced your lower ball joints. I'm going after one of mine on my '92 SSE. The darn thing looks like it is staked (big time) to the lower control arm.
How does one replace the joint? Please don't tell me I need to pitch the control arm too! I just did a quick peek. Did I not look closely enough?

I haven't done it on a Bonneville, but I do have a shop manual.
Raise vehicle and put on jackstands, but not by the control arms.
Take the wheel off.
Pull out the cotter pin and unbolt the nut.
Break loose the ball joint from the steering knuckle.
Drill out the rivets holding the ball joint.
Unbolt the stabilizer bar.
Pull the control arm down and remove the ball joint.
Reverse to install.
The new ball joint should come with bolts to bolt where the rivets were.

baal joints are easy
i work at a muffler man. those are easy air chisel for the rivets and i believe it is an 18 mm bolt there is no need to remove the stab pin. if you have a big enough pry bar. i would sugget a TRW part the part # IS A 10445
