"Grab a muti meter and set it to ohms and get the resistance from the key. Place the resistor between the two white wires running to the ECM, not the ignition. Any problems getting the resistance let me know"
Sorry man I don't know much about cars so I'm going to ask some stupid questions........ What is a muti meter? Where is the ohms and what does ECM mean?
Thanks

A multi-meter is a device that measures different electrical values such as AC or DC voltage, or resistance (ohms). Ohms is the resistance you measure. The ECM is the electronic control module, which is basically the computer which runs your car.

I done this and car has never failed to start in 2 years. I had to figure something out because when I got ecm and engine for swap i did not get the passlock module nor a key. hope this helps

Cleaning my key and the contacts in the lock didn't work for me, and neither did the spare key.
Check out this link. I got the resistors at Radio Shack, one buck for a packet of five. Wired it in and solved the problem at once.
No VATS? So what, it'* a PITA anyway.

That'* exactly what happened with Ditchboy'* 93 SSEi...we had put a resistor in, went "bad" for some reason, replaced it and all is fine again.
