Mine'* not necessarily hard to shift out of park. But when it'* really cold outside the car lurches when I first put it in reverse....it'* also accompanied by a "knock." LOL! 93K and it'* still doing fine, so we just let it go for now.

Check your fluid, though..

Keep an eye on it in the colder months (the really, really cold days). I've posted about it here (the hard shift out of park) and am told that it'* not uncommon.

Yep, mine has a VERY harsh shift when cold [no matter the outside temp, but in terms of engine temp]. Once the engine starts warming up, the shifts are nice and smooth, like they should be. The only way I have found to prevent this / improve it, is by moving it to neutral, then first, then reverse, and it seems to clear it up [my shifts are much harsher in reverse than the other gears, however it is still more than I want as far as harshness goes, in forward gears]. Also, just let the car idle for 30 seconds or so, in park. That will sometimes get the fluid flowing better, to make the shift smoother.

Now, as far as the question goes, if it'* a mechanical movement, it could just be something in the linkage? I am not sure how electronic the electronic trannys are, in the manner of if there is a linkage, or just a switch on the gear selector. Either way, hopefully some use will clear it all up .

You mean the shift lever is hard to move? Or that the tranny hesitates? If it'* the lever, the linkages may be "gunky" (I just pulled the dash out of my kids car. You wouldn't believe the crap that accumulates where you can't see it)
