turn key, nothing happens two seconds later car starts.
its been happening for the last two days.
when the car has been sitting for hours its when it happens.
i turn the key and the car doesnt ignite till seconds after... but there is a long silence.. and a quick ignition like usual.
also it holds back alot at steep hills.. like as if the engine cant push past 2,000rpm.
what can cause this?
lots of hesitation at wot.

Fuel pump might be a possible culprit. Does the car start right away if you turn the key to the on position....wait a couple of seconds, then crank it over? Might also explain the poor hill and WOT performance.

Change the fuel filter before doing anything else.
Not only the cheapest part, but also the most likely culprit.

I will check the connection again.

Weak battery connections did this to me before.

and the connection terminals are clean, and non-corroded.

I have kept up with maintanance, only things that are still orginal is:
starter
fuel pump
coils
oxygen sensor
what tools do i need to test Coils and Fuel Pressure??[/quote]
EDIT: i tried the turn on.. wait two seconds turn to start... it was bad..
car sounded as if i was killing the starter. very bad sound lots of scratching.
I tried again few seconds later.. this time not waiting the two seconds.. and i got the same response... and no the car wasnt already on.. was completely dead.
I tried a third time to start.. and it did.. this is got me very worried.. as it has
rapidly gone from good to bad.. in two days only.

Sounds like you should pull the starter and check that. Either the bearings are going in the starter, or it is not meshing properly with the flywheel. If the latter, you'll want to get to that right away, as you don't want to have to replace the flywheel. Check the condition of the teeth on it.

damn i figured it out.
i had the security system activated.
so the engine doesnt ignite.
But i was getting it to after so many tries.
either way the car doesnt start on the first try.
i ordered a new fuel pump.
car isnt so bad on up hills anymore.
