Default Transmission shift sticky.

I'm having a hell of a time finding anything in this forum about this one problem i'm having in particular. When i REALLY get on the throttle in 1st gear with my 1987 bonneville, it doesn't shift out of first by itself. It'* rev right to red line and it won't budge till i let up on the throttle. Sometimes even after i let off totally it sticks until i punch the gas with my foot, then it will rev and pop down. If i accellerate slowly, it bumps up 2nd 3rd 4th just like clockwork. Anyone got any ideas? The transmission was JUST rebuilt, as in last weekend, if that makes a difference. Also, i'm going to catch hell for asking 2 questions at one, but this one isn't as important to me. Does anyone know why mine rides a good inch and a half higher in the front thant the rear? Thanks

Betcha it has something to do with the recent rebuild. Try adjusting the TV Cable, maybe that will fix that problem. [Push button, pull cable out all the way and let go. Then move the throttle to WOT on the TB]. Make sure you have the proper level of ATF, also.

For the second question... did '87 have the air struts? If so, that'* why the rear is sagging. You will need to test the operation of the pump, if that is functional, then the struts are shot.. they will need replacing then.

My 88 did that for a while when I first bought it (would rev to the limiter on WOT but acted normally on part throttle) but it seems to have healed.

Manual just gives a list of things that can cause no shift at all but not no shift only ay WOT.

I think my '89 might do that as well (hard to tell without a tach, but sure seems to be reving fast). I just lift slightly, if shifts, and then back to WOT fun. It only seems to do this to me on the 1-2 shift. All others are fine.
