White Curse

I've been driving defensively for a year now with this white car. Knowing that it would be a matter of time until the curse struck. It happened yesterday. On my way past the prison (for those that know the area) a turkey darts out from my side of the road and will easily make the other side. Upon noticing the white car he pretended to be afraid of a car on the other side and came back at me. At 50mph he hit the driverside mirror.

Housing is fine, it bent back like it can. The turn signal mirror glass didn't make it. On my way back home hours later a rabbit ripped across mere millimeters in front of the tires. Not wanting to lose the one remaining foglight, I invoked near 5g's of stopping force and averted the crisis.

So, you now having turkey for dinner?

That's the downside.. bastage didnt' stop, so I didn't either. By the time I located a mirror that still worked to look out of, he was out of sight.

Me too..cause if he was smiling...I'd really be in a "fowl" mood.

I looked in the rearview. If he was laying in the road. I'd be eating turkey for lunch. Then...I'd be the one smiling. :rad

Ouch. Are the puddle lights and turn signal arrows okay?

The only animal-related incident I've had this year was when a deer and I were going down the road side-by-side. I raced it. Beat it by a mile.

I always hit things in the most random places and times. Hit a deer, already dead in the road because I wasn't paying attention. Hit a ladder stretched out across all lanes of the highway in the middle of the night. Hit a cat running across an 8 lane divided highway going 80 (thought I was going to find fur in the intercooler on that one but ended up getting away clean).

The best though was when I saw a car right next to me smack a deer. It's not often you see half a deer go running by. The car didn't even slow down.
