Weak attempt at 0-90+

On my way back to my parents' (WI) on Saturday morning I decided to measure one quick run since I had the camera handy. 80 and humid out, 2/3 tank of gas, tires at 33 psi each, left trac ON by accident  , and I still need to learn how to LAUNCH this thing  No KR at least.
I think it's easily capable of lower 5's to 60 once I get it down. Sorry for not getting a better run for you guys, but here ya go anyway!

HOLY SHIT! That is fast as heck!   8)

sonoma_zr2 08-06-2007 08:19 PM

what exhaust do you have on now?

dillcc 08-06-2007 08:20 PM

SLP headers, SLP cat, stock past that - except for that missing passenger exhaust tip

sonoma_zr2 08-06-2007 08:23 PM

once you change that muffler to an f-body, it should sound sweet. an outside audio clip would be nice to see if you can hear the headers with the stock muffler

dillcc 08-06-2007 08:25 PM

I'll work on it. It's just REALLY hard to find good places around here to film. Luckily I at least got something to show from the way home.

wjcollier07 08-06-2007 08:41 PM

Holy. That thing moves like a bat outta hell!

0-60 in about, what, 5.8 seconds was that?holy sheet.

89bonnelmj 08-06-2007 10:47 PM

 dang that car is fast! Got a radar yet? Intense should include one with there packages

leftd90 08-06-2007 10:58 PM

That was pretty impressive, very nice.

McGrath 08-07-2007 01:01 AM

Looks pretty good, that 1-2 shift looks real nice :) Only 6k shifts? (I'm thinking 6'200- 6250rpm for my setup)

My advice for working on your launch is to do it with out the brake first, then once you have it down sit on the brakes and bring the revs up.

Ed

dillcc 08-07-2007 01:36 AM

Thanks for the tip. I definitely have a lot of practice left to do, but man once I get it down  . And yeah, I'm amazed how crisply it shifts, but I thought it was supposed to be 6250 as well. Maybe it's the camera angle and lack of a truely accurate tach that contributes to the perception of only 6k...

OLDsman105 08-07-2007 08:47 AM

What other mods did you get?! That puts my car to shame after the mods I did to it.

Rogue 08-07-2007 09:14 AM

Looks good Bob :)

bonnie94ssei 08-07-2007 09:24 AM

Oh Bob you're so modest. That was quick regardless of your launch!

TJ'sblackbonne 08-07-2007 09:31 AM

I was impressed.

sonoma_zr2 08-07-2007 09:31 AM

I wish my tranny shifted like that, I woulda broke 13's

dillcc 08-07-2007 08:13 PM

Yeah no doubt, Travis!! Sooo damn close!

FWI, 180* T-stat, Autolite 103's (Need to ask Tim what he gapped them at), Stage 1x cam package, Yella Terra 1.6RR's and Pushrods, 3.2" MPS, Intense Transaxle with 3.29 gearing and 3000 stall TC.....I think that's it

Next step, hopefully soon, is Flow-matched injectors, P&P'd SC and TB and consequently dropping to a 3.0" pulley assuming the KR continues to stay away.

Then it'd be stage 3 heads, Gen V and 1.8 RR's  8) But that's a ways off!!

dbeast420 08-07-2007 10:19 PM

That was impressive. DAMN,I wish I lived closer to Ohio

dillcc 08-07-2007 11:26 PM

Great excuse for a road trip!! :D

2000SilverBullet 08-08-2007 12:05 AM

Very nice.
Looks like you would pull a mid to high 13 sec 1/4 mi run. 8)

dillcc 08-08-2007 12:34 AM

That was the initial goal 8)
I'll be hitting a few tracks when the weather cools down a bit to see what I/the car can do.

2000SilverBullet 08-08-2007 11:07 PM

Make sure if it's cool that the humidity is as low as possible. ;)

You might even pull a low 13 sec run if the conditions and traction are right.

WOW, i watched that video and didn't realize that you had already went to intense and was amazed. Looks pretty quick.

dillcc 08-12-2007 10:57 PM

Ha, yeah that'd be one H E L L of a factory freak
By the way, Tim gapped the plugs at .048".

SSsuperchargedEi 08-13-2007 01:00 AM

damn, i knew i shouldve done a cam... very quick car there. at first i thought that you were running like that with the light mods listed in your sig. but yeah, very impressed! 8) 8)

Bonneville92V688 09-08-2007 01:18 AM

Hehe... just out of nowhere I got the urge to watch your video again... DAMN that is fast. :D

Hans 09-08-2007 04:32 AM

thats low 13s. no question in my mind. 12s with slicks I think.

looks like 11 Seconds to get to 90. That makes it what....12ish to get to 100+?

With a 3.0" pulley and race gas....that car would be way fun.

dillcc 09-10-2007 10:20 PM

I conservatively timed 11.5 to 90, which I would THINK would equal about 13.5 to 100 (and the 1/4 mile) based on the fact I was accelerating roughly 2 seconds per 10 mph (not slowing down much either) but I stillI have no idea how low 13's could be in store with just these mods, and other guys running mid 13's with the same. But damn, 12's are so freaking enticing!! I guess I'm even more pumped that this was just a random run with no prep whatsoever and a pretty crappy launch. I swear to god that was a flat road, but it also makes me wonder now too...

jshelton Ran a 13.49 with only rockers, headers, pcm and a 3.2, stock cam, stock gear ratio, street tires....His car weighs several hundred pounds more than yours. With the weight advantage, your cam, and slicks I'd think it would be very close to 12s.

dillcc 09-10-2007 10:31 PM

Looks like it was flat (+3 feet actually, 888 to 891) 8)

I love this website for mapping my running routes by the way :D
