WCBM Day 3 - The SSEi'* Ruled Woodburn !!!!
The pics will have to wait till Bill can post them.
What a day
What was supposed to be a cooler day turned out to be a scorcher at 93 and the track surface I shot with my infrared heat gun at 140
The best run for me was when I went up against PDad.
It was me with my Potenza street tires against Hoosier slicks. We both have near identical mods except he has the 3500 stall converter and was having some trouble with cooking his fluid. An hour before the race we installed an oil cooler.
Day 2 we were both in the 14.0 times but couldn't break into the 13'*....that was the goal. I got 7 runs in that day.
So we both pulled into the burnout box. Both of our Lsd'* hooked up great and there were 4 tires spinning and there was so much smoke it took a while for me to see the staging lights.
Yellow, Yellow, Yellow (GO ) Green......and we were both off with .0xx reaction times. Neck and neck all the way down.
I knew it was close but when I picked up my slip I hollered with joy.
13.985 for me and 13.995 for O'Neil.
We finally enter the 13 sec club.
Chad, Chadow427 was also doing great. He posted the fastest trap at 99 mph but was only a hair away from the 13 sec mark.
We had a whole lane to ourselves racing against the PFYC Grand Prix Club GP'*, Monte
Carlos and GTO'*. There were some really nice rides there. Half of the GP cars didn't race and were only in the Show and Shine. The ones that were there ranged from very low 13 sec to 15 sec NA
Only 3 Bonnes were up to the challenge of this day.
Bracket racing elimination runs began in the afternoon as the heat of the day was taking its toll.
With 2 dial in runs in the morning.....in which PDad scored a Perfect Light Club T-Shirt .....I was able to get 3 more elimination runs in. Couldn't get back into the 13'* with any of them because of the temps. I dialed in at 13.95
We were finally down to the last 4 cars.
We paired up so PDad and I wouldn't eliminate each other. He won his race.
I lost mine against a very good driver who pulled a .002 reaction time against my .039
I was close but I lost by .07 sec. :(
The final race was between PDad and the GP Club guy that beat me.
They staged. All 4 stage lights lit up.
Yellow...then the GP guy rolled out of the stage lights slightly and threw a Red light :P
Win went to PDad.
Our crowd of Bonne spectators went wild.
More to come later......I have to get ready for Day 4.......over at Bill'*.
