Time to move on, time to say goodbye...
In its 26 years of service, it'* done 206,780 miles.
I have known it for 11 of those years, and inflicted 55k miles of abuse upon it.
Each and every day, I have tried to beat it within an inch of its life, and it has done nothing but come back for more each and every time.
But in life, there comes a point where you find yourself at a crossroads, and you have to choose a path.
I have chosen a path, and that path involves parting ways with my 1993 Buick Park Avenue.
Simply put, it doesn't make financial sense to keep it around at this point. Insurance rates are unsustainable, and maintenance costs are stacking up.
It'* a sad day, as it'* been around for so long. For the longest time, I have been willing it along, wanting to see what would bring about its end, and unfortunately, that day hasn't come yet.
It will likely be sold locally for $500, unless I can be convinced there is a better course of action. Insurance and registration expire at the end of May, both of which I have no intention of renewing.
It'* just a car, but there'* something about these cars. They get under your skin, and you can never get them out. To this day, my father still talks fondly of his 1997 Park Avenue Ultra, despite it being wrecked over 8 years ago.
It'* a sad day coming, all I can do in the meantime is invest in the Regal, to get it ready for daily duties. Tires, Alignment, etc.

It'* sad, but part of owning a car. I agree they get under your skin. Glad it was good to you.

No rust thankfully, just baked the clearcoat/ paint off, which is a common occurrence in the desert southwest.
The finder was blown out by blasting about 6 inches of water at 40mph, and I just ripped it the rest of the way off.

I totally understand. It is like loosing a good reliable friend!
I hope My ole Pk Ave can give me another 5 years of service yet.
You should keep the hood ornament as a memento !
In the background looks like you have another ride?

Just had a thought: Maybe the new owner will post here for help with it down the road. Wouldn't that be cool!

I hate parting with vehicles. Every time I get rid of one, a part of me goes with it.

Would I be safe to assume @ 206k miles, was that still the original transmission?
