Default Thanksgiving week progress (NGT 1,2,3,4)...(LOTS O PICS)

NIGHT 1

curing cancer one spot at a time...

How the car sits currently, and likely how it will sit for most of the week.

bumper and other stuff

driver side rear wheel well

trim behind wheel that holds rear bumper on

where the bumper rubbed through the paint causing rust.

under driver door

driver side back door

passenger side bumper rub.

passenger side bumper support

rear passenger side wheel well (what started the whole cancer curing process)

rear passenger side door

front pass. door

dad put 2 bikes on cieling to give me more room

my "new" 96FSM, and the build sheet, which I need to flatten.

new creeper and jack (stands under car) cheap sears set, but so much better than no jack or stands, and doing the military thing to get under the car.

Current drive way, uncles honda, dad'* gayhoe, my moms buick, and yes my dad has a vette(whop de do, he drives like my grandpa(86) )

cool shot with no back bumper.

Ohio bedroom:
(couch, TV, TV stand, all belong elsewhere in the house, but they provide extra flat space for now)

glass shelves out side my room, always wanted glass shevles for my models. (came with the house)

this is just night #1....more comming all week.

Good progress. Did you paint your rear sway bar or buy it like that?

I painted the sways before I put them in. (they are the larger 32mm front and 21mm rear bars)

Hopefully I will have all the exposed metal either primered or ready to be, by tomorrow night.

For that rust in the wheel well, if its cleaned metal now, use Rust-lok. we used it on the boat I worked on, on the masts that were constantly exposed to saltwater and freshwater. After applying it, there was never another problem as when it cures, it is basically a metal replacement. Might help avoid cancer again.

My .02

good work btw so far.

its840: I'm in Hudson ohio, if your on this side of the state we could meet up...heck, you could always come help.

Chad V: For the wheel wells I am going to coat them in a sound deadener, which is made for incar and exterior use. For all the other rust spots (not visiable) like under the door, where you have to bend down and look, I was thinking of using rustoleum primer and then their paint. (gloss white) If it begins to rust again, I would just start over and try something different. I just want to stop it from rusting more than it already is.

I still need to figure out exactly how I am going to put in a new piece of metal in the wheel well, and prevent the stuff under that metal sheet from rusting.

im tellin ya, spread that rust-lok then put the sheet over it. as long as you got all the oxidized metal sanded down to the original metal or something like the same, you should be good. Just have to seal it before putting it down.

I hate to say it, but to fill the hole in the wheel well for now until you can get something welded in, I would use bondo. It'll keep the elements out from inside, and help prevent further rust. Also, you'll find more if you take off the plastic rocker molding running front to back on these cars. I'll warn you, it might not be pretty. The 93 SSEi I looked at was gone under that (granted it was a NY car)

I'm thinking of spreading some JBweld around edges of the piece of metal that I will use to patch the hole. The inside will be coated with some sort of rust stuff...rustoleum most likely.

its840: I'll be here all week if you get bored enough. I would meet you 1/2 way for dinner or something but I'll be driving my moms buick

On a side note, got all the doors and such primered.
