The Silverado and I play on Prospect Mountain
No, no off roading involved. But great scenery.
I just finished up working out on the road for my company, and the last couple nights put me in Lake George, NY, at peak fall season colors. Most of my time was spent driving or working, so the last day out, I decided to see what the whole Prospect Mountain thing was about.
Got some great shots in at the 3 stop off points up the trailway, but you can't take passenger cars to the summit, so I had to hike it from the parking lot to the top. Plenty of shots, from all over the mountain, but I'll just post the ones with the Silverado in it here. I really wasn't planning on it being a photoshoot, it just kinda happened. And you can tell the poor girl hasn't had a bath in the 1800+ miles in that 2 weeks I drove through upstate/downstate NY, VT and NH.
The first set here was a stop off point headed up to Lake Placid on my first week out. Just an amazing drive through the mountains. I even shot video, with my phone pointed out the windshield on its mount.

This second set is of the trip up the side of Prospect Mountain, located in Lake George NY. Its one of the highest peaks around, and 100 mile views from the summit on a clear day. Coolest thing I saw all trip long. Its a pretty humble feeling when you see the northway (I87) from the top, and the OTR trucks look like little ants from up there. Not the clearest of days, but you could still see an amazing distance from up there.
And a picture from the summit. No truck, no vehicles allowed except their tourist bus, but man what a view!
And this is just in the hotel parking lot. Great view from the 4th floor here. The Hampton sits on top of a large hill, and overlooks the valley. Great place to stay in the area.
