So long Bonnie!! RIP.........TOTALED!!

my beautiful 98 SSEi is gone!!!

drunk asshole rear ended my last night on my way home from work. stopped at walmart to get a gallon of milk and some grapes. came to stop at a stoplight about 1/3 way home and all of a sudden....BANG!!!!!!!

took me a minute to figure out what happened...turned car off and fumbled with the locks to get out of the car...airbag smoke everywhere.

trying to figure out if i'm ok or not...ask the others if they are ok. then i go back into the car to find my cell phone...it was in the rear floorboard behind my seat...almost couldn't get it out. can't open rear doors.

drunk asshole starts his truck back up and tries to move it somewhere, not sure where he was going. i hollered "turn the f#$%ing thing off...you're not going anywhere!"

called my daughter to come get me (only 2 miles away).

while we are waiting for the cops and fire trucks to arrive...only took a couple of minutes for them...great response time!......drunk asshole disappears!!!!!

he fled the scene!!!!

everybody asking if i'm ok...especially after looking at the car.

i'm mostly ok... got rug burn on the top of my head from hitting the roof
a couple of scrapes from hitting bottom of dash with my leg and scrapes from the shattered glass. happened at 11:50 friday night...it's now 3am saturday and i'm really sore on my forearms, hips from seatbelt and my legs from all the jjittering from nerves and shivering from the cold.
gonna go rest for a while.

heres the link to photobucket where i posted the pics.

gonna be in the market for another one here soon. i just love these bonnevilles

You got a real good picture of the drunk cowards truck. Good enough for the local news stations to air so people can turn that jerk in...esp. if there is a reward for his capture ;)

That's a VERY hard hit. Another testiment to how well our Bonnes are built.

Good luck with that! Probably uninsured, that's why he fled. Good luck finding out if the truck is even registered anywhere. That was my story anyway.

What you do is slap a lien on everything the motherFer ever owned. Make sure he gets charged with leaving the scene on top of the DUI he obviously deserves, although, they won't be able to prove that one, so get him with reckless op. That had to be at least a 50MPH hit, probably a lot more. Did he even hit the brakes? If he did, go back and take pics of the skid marks with a tape measure on them...

Hope you feel better. You used up a lot of luck on that one...

EDIT: BTW, if anybody wonders how they stand up in a rear-ender, notice that even though his trunk is GONE, the C-pillars are barely touched? That's less than an inch of intrusion. In other words, the rear passengers would have stiff necks, prolly nothing more.

Whiplash for sure with an impact like that.
He will be in much pain today after the adrenaline wears off.

Notice the truck hit high above the bumper.....not that it would have been much better but it crumpled a bit more than it should have if it were hit square on the bumper.

I think the driver of the truck probably just ran away so he couldn't get charged with DUI. Is leaving the scene of an accident just as bad......probably not in the legal sense. He needs to pay though. If he were charged with DUI, his insurance won't cover any damages. With no proof of DUI, he may get away with it. Depends on state law.

Neck injuries will sometimes get worse over time. He should visit a specialist before signing any insurance waivers.

Sorry to hear about your accident, glad you werent seriously hurt. Definitely get your injuries looked at though. Hope they get the guy who did this. :x
