RAM AIR by Pontiac
4 Attachment(s)
so ever since owning my 03 i ALWAYS HATED the space infront of the core support. I always felt as tho Pontiac left it very unfinished.....
here is a pic to explain what i mean

Attachment 46570

putting a small piece of rubber over the Radiator and the AC condensor to cover it up is not how you build a car

SOOOOOi came up with a solution

Attachment 46573

Not only does it fit Perfect....the area where the hood latch, matches the area where the oil fill is on the SC as you can see in the pics....

now that being said, i did have to modify a couple of areas on this splash shield and there is sitll one part that i have to change to allow the hood to close, and that will also hold the splash shield down as not done yet with it....but very close

very nice touch look almost factory do you think il will help direct the air more to the rad

what about the...radiator fill cap?

I'd sand off the Ram Air. It's nothing but a joke on the GA anyway, and it's sorta-poserish. I like the shroud, but not the text. You could do something custom on there.

the Rad Cap, the hood stops in the very front, provisions for the Bra, are all things that need to be addressed.....the Rad Cap and the Hood Stops can be done in less than 5 min...ii have to think what i want to do with the Bra attachment in the front....maybe just leave it the way it is, and just lift up when the bra goes on....

I like the shroud! Do you have any plans on what to do with the Ram Air text if anything?

Actually, I don't mind the "Ram Air" at all, and in fact, kinda like it. Whether or not it is functional (or useful even if it was functional), many cars are a combination of performance and appearance. Even though it may not provide any true benefit, I think it is a nice, factory looking appearance mod (and of course, none of us do anything under the hood to make the engine bay look cool ;))

I can tell you many times that folks poking under the hood at the strip or at a local car show, appreciate engine bay detail, cleanliness, and appearance. Often, a stranger will notice something under the hood that catches their eye, that leads to them asking more about the car and much of teh fun is talking about your car and educating.

"RAM AIR" has gotta go. Make something to put over it.

BONNEVILLE or SSEi... something

Ram air fits..

The SC is ramming air into the intake. 8)

I totally agree...those penny-pinchers at GM took away the under-hood light (not that it was too usful in the previous generation Bonneville or Eighty Eight) and they left the engine bay looking unfinished. Im surpised it got an engine cover at all...but I must say I like this idea. The fit seems spot-on and other than the fact that its not true, I like the Ram Air logo as well.
