My engine is pretty dirty for my standards. I went muddin (yes, in my car) and I got mud all in the engine. This is after hosing the bay down twice. Up close there is still mud spots in some areas.

The 92-99'* where built for muddin, the body gets better floatation. 2000+ can't take the abuse
I went muddin unitentionally last year in Arkansas. I took a left on to a gravel road that turned out to be the entrance to a soybean field. This was at 4:30 in the morning on my way to a jobsite(paving county roads) packed my wheel wells full-o-mud... went 100 feet into the field and was able to back out without getting stuck(for too long)
