Pics with new ''mods'' of silverado

I know shes not much to look at but shes my baby 17 years and 245thousand miles later this is what she is now

Decided my front end looked boring so first i started by taking my tow hooks off and painting them an off color blue then taped the grille off and painted the bowtie the same color While wet sanding my headlights to restore their Clarity Also this is my entry for COTM Please comment your thoughts

im sure you'll have it back in shape in no time

did you buy it brand new?

yutzybrian 11-08-2010 05:53 PM

Have ya thought about sanding down the paint and just spraying it over with new color. Rattle can would be sufficient for a truck that old

sseidriver97 11-08-2010 06:42 PM

Yeah i have thought about grabbing the paint code and getting some of that duplicolor perfect match. And clear coat and re-doing it..I plan to in the spring replace my cab corners and have it repainted the same color and get my z71 badges put on instead of going with the 4X4 badging

did you buy it brand new?
No but i am the second owner..first was My grandpa Now me

hehe wellllll when the paint job would cost more than the blue book value of the truck....

sseidriver97 11-08-2010 07:30 PM

sentimental value kills blue book...This is one vehicle i wil never get rid of..ill rebuild it as many times as i have to lol Once i get to MO itll basically sit for a while untill i get my name reestablished...by then i should have my long bed dually that i want

sseidriver97 11-08-2010 07:42 PM

i doubt a paint job will cost me 4600 bucks(this is with 50k miles on the motor) but with the actual amount it is 3 grand....espically sense i usually paint my own cars...spend 60 bucks on paint 60 on clear another 100-200 on body prep materials..wont need primer if i redo the orig color or even a close blue lookin at around say 350 bucks even...

Wow, paints almost as bad as mine. I'm thinking about painting it camo.

sseidriver97 11-08-2010 08:52 PM

Its not as bad as it looks it only the top of the truck(hood top of fenders and some of the roof and the bed rails)
