POS Bonneville !!!!
J/K! WooHoo! Just brought my new toy home. It'* a '92 SSEi, white with gray leather interior. Lots of electric crap. Played with the seat controls and the steering wheel radio controls for a while. The body has 264,000 Km on it but the interior is very decent for the age. Has a GM rebuilt that is about 3 years old.
First drive was interesting. Bald tires, lots of fresh snow and ice. A decent amount of body rot, a couple of rips in the bumper cover. I got a SES light when manually downshifting from 'O' to 'D'. Went out when I put it back. Also, more troubling, got a jerk like a miss or backfire on medium acceleration. I don't know what kind of fuel has been used but it was a daily driver with about 30 Km one way to work (back roads).
The engine itself is quite clean, considering it'* a country car. It idles smoothly and very quietly. Seems to be happy to rev at rest with just a little shudder while blipping the throttle. I wonder if it'* a mount somewhere. There is a slight coolant leak as the intake over the belts is damp but not wet. The */c cover clips are broken (anyone surprised?) but I likely won't use it anyway as it faces the wrong direction. The belts are badly cracked, but I have to change anyway as I will lose the p/* and a/c compressor.
For those who don't know, this gem is being transplanted into my Fiero. Well one step down, only about 600 more to go. I'm a happy boy!!!!!!

Congrats on the POS?!?!? hahahah...nice...scared me for a sec there.
This will be fun to watch and read about the project you have in mind. That Fiero is going to rip it up....
Have fun with the new toy(*)

Your plugs and wires are the most likely cause for the bucking/missing on moderate acceleration. Glad you have a donor car for your project.
