Weekend Jaunt to NY State, Vermont, New Hampshire
Nice to be back at home, but its always nice to reflect and share the story of my trip to the northeastern US. Shortly after the success of the now infamous Aug 28 Ont. BonnevilleClub meet here in Toronto. I was cordially invited to take an autumn trip to New Hampshire to visit with some friends and take in the sights and sounds of Sleepytown NH. So here is my story...pics too...YAY
Friday morning: The Saga Begins
I woke up at around 5:15 am and had finished packing my clothes a few hours earlier. I had Peter and Hailey to thank for keeping me up so damn late that night :P Hailey was busy discussing last second plans and finalizing my directions whilst Peter and I were planning a 9am breakfast with Walter (Aviator) in Syracuse. At any rate, gone by 6am from home. It was cold and dark, but amen for seat warmers and a fast car. On the 405 leading to the Queenston Bridge, I hit a bird...I dunno how, but I smacked it good...lol
The jaunt on the I90 E thru NY was dead easy. So far so good, it rained thru Bullalo. By the time the sun was up at 7:30, sunglasses on, moonroof peeled, tunes up...Syracuse or bust. Got to SYR by 9:30...right on schedule. Met up with Flyboy and Peter at his house.
Check out these pics;
Had a nice chat over coffee, juice and bagels with Peter and Walter. So, Peter got to drive my car around...well, sorry bro, you know its a sweet *** ride. Once we got back onto the hwy to get to Petes place...I said "Dude...punch it" Pete...you fill in the details..lol
Back on the road by 11:00. Drove thry Albany, into Troy NY, into Bennington VT and then I had FUN. WOW...best hwy ever is the 9E/W up and down and over and under. Finally I got to the top of the Green Mountain...the pics speak for themselves.
Eventually I reached NH by about 3:30ish and arrived to my destination by 4:15. Parked the bug covered Aurora on Federal St beside Hailey and Rob apt and called. "The Eagle has LANDED" I had made it. I wanted nothing more then to get to my hotel room.
Check it out
This is what $160USD a night gets you...2 double beds for 1 I suppose...lol, 14 ft ceilings and nice sized room...vurry nice indeed. Have a look
That Friday night, Hailey, Amity and her sister Elsie paid a visit to my room and we left for Margaritas Mexican get drunk and eat joint. Rob, Nathan, his GF, and Amity'* bro Chuck all made it and we had a blast. Good fun. I asked for a rye and Coke...Americans don't know what Rye is...lol, so I had a Rum and Coke instead. Some of us went back to the room and watched of all movies You've Got Mail...lol, I love that movie...hahaha
I crashed by 2:30 am...I was SPENT...
Saturday
Up at 8am , shower and I needed a walk. So I grabbed my camera....have a look at Smallsville NH
Yes...a limo..lol
Coffee stop at the Roast
Something about small towns that I just love. Then my NH Tour Guide arrived...shes gonna kill me now, amen for zoom lenes as Mrs Hailey works out the daily tour books...lol...locals
We took off for the Atlantic Ocean via the scenic route thru NH...check out this
We got to Hampton Bay 2 hrs later...and the rain stopped so I could walk to the Ocean and take some pics...but...of course...what is a trip without RICE
The Ocean
Tour Guide workin the phone...don't mess with that purse, shes got a loaded Kimber Ultra in there
Got back by dinner time and rested at Hails house. Then off for dinner, what a cool town, so many different places for my keen palette to experience. At the restaurant I tried my Rye and Coke test again. All I got was :? so I pointed to the Canadian Club RYE on the shelf and asked the pretty lady to add it to my Coke...lol..CC and Coke, it took a CDN in NH to introduce the concept of Rye and Coke....
By Sat night...Jimbo was dead tired. Hails and Rob were gracious enough to let me crash on their couch for the night..and I needed it..oye...tired monkey. But first I had to check in on BC...some noisy member (cough cough Hails cough) had to watch over my shoulder as I mod godded...lol, I walked away and she started pushing buttons..
On Sunday I attend mass with the happy couple and one of Hails' friends, then we went to the Colony Mill, and of course I checked out the local architecutural office and bought some CD'* at the local bookstore. Then off to lunch. I spent Sunday walkin around town with Amity. We all got together for dinner again, which was great! That night, once again Amity and her sis played gracious hostesses for this weary visitor. We watched Bridget Jones Diary...lol.
Monday I was back on the road. Went back to Haileys place to say bye, and off I went, gased up and I was road worthy.
2000km, 2 tanks of gas or so, $410 USD spent..not bad...LOTS OF FUN.
and thats it....
Oh one last pic
NorthStar and Aeraeik
Thanks to Hailey and Rob, for their hospitality and allowing me to visit their home town, it was a great experience....

Sounded like fun! Good old New England. Looks just like Rhode Island! Took a trip there in August myself. Loved it.
And YES, driving the Rora was friggin awesome! I'm glad you let me drive her! Man for those who haven't driven an Aurora with dual Magnaflows... you HAVE to do it sometime! That sounded AMAZING!! And that beast flew. On the highway back to my place a Cadillac was coming up fast and I couldn't let that Northstar beat Jim'*, so I punched it and the result kind of surprised me...as Jim and Walter heard me say, "HOLY SH**!!" I liked it to say the least. I want one for a second car.
Glad you and Aviator were able to stop by. And glad you got a pic of DrugRunner "the one eyed monster" (and my new sig pic)
Next time we'll cruise and kill some rice on "The Boulevard"

I'm only replying to say, you need more pics of people! It looks like there was only 1 girl and 20 cars on this trip! More people, more girls specifically.

You must like being beaten by chicks or something...
I am glad you came though...it was so much fun. I'm still trying to figure out a way to extort your BC password from you so I can push buttons again. lol
*Wait..did I say that out loud? Shoot..*
It was a great weekend for sure...maybe next time Peter can accompany you (whaddya say Peter, you up for it?).
Oh, and thanks for posting all those pics ...[a few nights ago] *Hailey* Don't post any of me okay?....*Jim* No, of course not...*Hailey* I would need to at least see them first...*Jim* Certainly...no problem...don't worry.
Oh well...glad you had a good time...make the trip again sometime (maybe next time it won't RAIN ALL THE TIME ...lol...it was fun anyway. ).

First words of the guilty..."I didn't do it"
In all seriousness though, it was a lot of fun to experience a piece of New England Americana. It was definitely a worth while trip. I was the only Ontario plate and it turned heads for sure.
